University Senate Proposed: September 26, 1997
RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH A JOINT DEGREE PROGRAM IN DENTISTRY AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
WHEREAS, the new demands for the administration of health care delivery systems require a cadre of individuals who are highly trained both in the health professions and in business administration, and
WHEREAS, the Education Committee has favorably reviewed a proposal (described in the attached summary) from the School of Dental and Oral Surgery and the Graduate School of Business to establish a program whose graduates will earn a Doctor of Dental Science degree and a Masters degree in Business Administration, and
WHEREAS, the Committee is satisfied that the proposal has been approved by the appropriate faculty committees in the School of Dental and Oral Surgery and the Graduate School of Business and by the Registrar, the University Librarian, and the Provost;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the University Senate establish a new joint degree program in Dentistry and Business Administration, with the proviso that the Education Committee will review the program in three years;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be forwarded to the Trustees for appropriate action.
