RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH THE KAVLI INSTITUTE FOR BRAIN SCIENCE

WHEREAS an understanding of the function of the brain remains one of the

biggest challenges faced by modern science, and

WHEREAS the study of both molecular and circuit problems in the brain

requires a multidisciplinary approach, and

WHEREAS a stellar group of scientists from a number of Departments in the

Columbia University Medical Center and on the Morningside campus will participate to contribute tothe research and educational activities of the proposed Institute,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Kavli Institute for Brain Science be

established under the administrative supervision of the Executive Vice President for Health and Biomedical Sciences and Dean of the Faculties of Health Sciences and Medicine.
