RESOLUTION
TO ESTABLISH AN M.S. PROGRAM IN
FUNDRAISING MANAGEMENT IN NONPROFIT ADMINISTRATION
IN THE SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
WHEREAS, the Education Committee has favorably reviewed
a proposal from the School of Continuing Education to offer a Master of Science
program in Fundraising Management in Nonprofit Administration, and
WHEREAS, the Committee is satisfied that the proposal
has been approved by the executive committee of the School of Continuing
Education, and
WHEREAS, there is a growing need for highly skilled
fundraising professionals in the nonprofit sector, and
WHEREAS, the existing non-degree certificate program
in fundraising management does not fully meet the needs of the growing
discipline of fundraising management in nonprofit administration, and
WHEREAS, the School of Continuing Education has established that the proposed degree program would replace and improve on the above-mentioned certificate program and would provide a much needed program of professional preparation for careers in fundraising management in nonprofit administration, and
WHEREAS, the proposal has the endorsement of the
Acting Vice President for Arts and Sciences and the Provost of the University,
THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED, that the University
Senate establish the Master of Science in Fundraising Management in Nonprofit
Administration

IT FUR THER RESOLVED, that the Senate
forward this resolution to the Trustees for appropriate action.
