RESOLUTION TO RENAME THE DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL INFORMATICS AS THE

THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOMEDICAL INFORMATICS

 

 

WHEREAS,     the Executive Vice President of Health and Biomedical Sciences and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and the Provost of the University have approved a change of name for the department of medical informatics which better reflects both the department’s work and the discipline’s broader scope, and

 

WHEREAS,     the Committee on Education has favorably reviewed the request for a change of name;

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,       that the University Senate approve the change in name of the Department of Medical Informatics to the Department of Biomedical Informatics, and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,         that the University Senate request the trustees to amend Section 40 of Chapter IV of the Statutes of the University to reflect this change.
