RESOLUTION TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE DEPARTMENT OF

MINING, METALLURGICAL, AND MINERAL ENGINEERING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EARTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

 

WHEREAS      the faculty of the Department of Mining, Metallurgical, and Mineral Engineering  (Henry Krumb School of Mines) have proposed to change their name for their department—Earth and Environmental Engineering, and

 

WHEREAS      the faculty of the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science and the provost of the university have approved this change of name, and

 

WHEREAS      the Senate Committee on Education has also approved this name change;

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,      that the University Senate approve the renaming of the Department of Mining, Metallurgical, and Mineral Engineering as the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering, and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,        that the University Senate ask the Trustees to amend the University Statutes in Section 40, Article IV;  Section 144, Article XIV; and Section 153 (paragraph 3, Subsection a), Article XV to reflect this name change.
