RESOLUTION TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE
TEMPORARY AD HOC COMMITTEE ON RESEARCH STAFF AFFAIRS
WHEREAS, on January 26, 2001, the Senate resolved to
establish an ad hoc committee on research staff affairs, to function until the
end of the 2001–2002 Senate session, and resolved that the Ad Hoc Committee
would report to the Senate with a recommendation about its own future during
this period, and
WHEREAS, the Senate Committee on Structure and
Operations is in the midst of reviewing, and considering the implications of, a
proposal from the Ad Hoc Committee on Research Staff Affairs to (1) increase
the number of Senate seats held by research officers, (2) create a standing
Senate committee to deal with issues pertaining to research officers, and (3)
place research officers on other Senate committees;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ad Hoc Committee on Research
Staff Affairs be continued in its present form until the end of the 2002–2002
academic year, with the expectation that appropriate Senate action and other
required action will be completed by that time.
